Tonight The Landon had their fall festival event, and it could not have been more enjoyable. They were very considerate of everybody who was attending and had wonderful things for everyone to enjoy. Bounce house for the kids and a petting zoo and yummy food and vendors to boot. Well done!!!!!!
My 93yo dad moved in a month ago and has been very happy. The staff are excellent. I think every one of them knows him by name, and they're always friendly and helpful. And the food is excellent! According to dad, the omelet at the Sunday brunch is the best he's ever had, and I have to agree! Before deciding on The Landon, I visited 6 other similar communities and The Landon stood out for all the reasons above.
Delicious food, beautiful both inside & out They offered 1-3 bedroom apartments. Meals included. Daily evening movies, a van is provided to take residents to grocery etc. every room has a patio. Pool for residents to use, pet-friendly.
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My mother loved her home at the Landon. A beautiful, clean, well kept, caring residence. She was so proud to show everyone what a lovely place she lived in. The dining room was outstanding, serving delicious made to order meals, a Sunday Brunch, and a lovely Bistro for breakfasts. There was always something fun to do, staying as busy as you wanted to be, a full work out area, a exercise room, pool, craft room, movie room, chapel, field trips with a guide, and her favorite Happy Hour. Later, as she needed more help there was 24/7 nursing care at different levels of need. We were so happy to be able to let her spend her final days there.
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident Our mom was a resident at the Landon @ lake Highlands for almost 5 years. There are absolutely not enough words to tell you the amazing care & love she received while she lived there. From the office staff to the cooks, the servers, the activities director, Office staff, cleaning staff, everyone, even security were all so good to our mom. We could have never picked a better place for our mom to spend the final 5 years of her life. Everyone there went far beyond the call of duty. They showed mom more love than her own family could have! And we tried! On behalf of our entire family, THANK YOU!!! to all staff at your facility! We HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a place for your family member. You will not be sorry.
Plenty of opportunity to stay active with exercise programs daily, pleasant dining room for lunch and dinner, speakers occasionally, crafts, physical therapy is offered with order from physician.
The Landon is an excellent facility. My Mom was a resident for five years and those years were filled with quality care, events, happy hour and music. Mom's time at The Landon were a gift as she aged. A huge thank you to Eileen and the entire Landon team for all that was done for Mom and for all that they continue to do for the current residents.
I really appreciated the prompt and friendly service I got from the maintenance team over the weekend when my apt wasn't cooling,- You can rely on Michael!
Landon at Lake Highlands is a beautiful and wonderful place to be. The staff is loving and caring. They pay attention to what all of the needs are of our loved ones! Great management. For any Independent Living, this community is the best!
I am/was a resident of this facility Landon at Lake Highlands is independent living with extra assistance if needed. The staff is very friendly. They have a very low turnover rate. This place has been open for 17 years, and they have someone who has been working here since the beginning of the conception of the agency. I like that about it. It seems like they like to work here, and they're not here for a paycheck, which is nice. They have a pool that is open during the warmer season. I like that because I can do water exercises for my arthritis. They also have a physical therapist on staff which is helpful as I'm recovering from a knee replacement surgery. I have a two-bedroom apartment, but they also have one-bedrooms and studios. The apartments are very nice. Housekeeping is included as part of the rent that you pay. They have washer and dryer hookups in the apartments, so you can do your laundry in your apartment instead of having to use a public machine. I like that, too. They provide full kitchens in the apartments. If you choose to do your own cooking, you can. You can benefit from their prepared meals as well. The chef is very good. They provide three meals a day, and they're open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., which is kind of nice. I'm blind, but my relatives said it's a very clean place. I also think it's well-kept. I have not experienced any activities as of yet because this is my third weekday. However, they have lots of activities. They also have nondenominational worship services on the premises. It is a pet-friendly community, which I like because I want to get a dog. My brother said that they have a fitness center and a gym with some nice equipment.
I visited this facility I visited the independent living side of The Landon at Lake Highlands, and it just had a very positive energy. I saw several residents, and they were engaging. They showed me an available room, and it was in line with what my mom needed.
My mother has been at the Landon since July 2024 and I can't say enough good things about this place. It is extremely clean, the food is wonderful, the activities are plentiful and the staff is incredible. In particular, Mark Sheets has been a wonderful person to work with. From the beginning of meeting him during the touring process, he worked diligently to make sure he showcased why the Landon would be the right spot for her. After touring 9 different independent living communities, it was because of Mark that I realized the Landon was where my mother needed to be. He continues to show both my mother and me extreme courtesies every time he sees us. His willingness to continually go out of his way to make sure she is enjoying her new home puts my mind at ease to know that we picked the perfect place for her. Mark is without a doubt a true asset to the Landon. Whether one is dealing with Mark or any of the other staff, please rest assured that your loved one will be taken care of at the Landon.
I knew the first time I walked onto the property, this was a quality facility. Mark Sheets went over and above to address every question and concern. He and I toured the campus and discussed what it would take to move my mother out of her home of over 50 years. I knew mom would need to be close to the dining room, so location was critical. A recent vacancy was to be ready for viewing in about a week. I viewed the same floor plan further down the hall and felt it would be adequate for mom's needs. When mom and I looked at the apartment, there was immediate interest in exploring this option further. Mark then offered us to have lunch and experience the food first hand. That closed the deal! The food is delicious, the residents are friendly, the few pets residing there are adorable. Mom has not been this happy and comfortable in a LONG time. She is walking more than before for her three meals a day as well as her two happy hours a week. Mom says- " I feel like I am on a cruise!" We can not wait until cooler weather to sit out on her beautiful balcony and watch the sunset together.
I see this place as my New Famuly Home. Residents & Staff always treat me with a smile, a welcome, and want to know how they can assist me. I will move into an apartment in March as soon as it is ready, maybe on March 15. I've alrrady been asked to be a rrsodent who can zerve others in ways I've already served others with acceptance from them and those in charge in corpirations, churches, and Dallas County As an Elections Day Judge. I love to meet & greet strangers, and treat them as "friends I haven't met yet." That's how Landon Place treats me, too!
I visited this facility I was very happy with The Landon at Lake Highlands. It was not quite as appealing visually. It is less expensive, and I felt like it was adequate for my needs. But the thing that would swing it in its favor is that it is much closer to where my son and daughter-in-law live, so it's easy access. They are very loving and are very interested in me, and I would consider that a very big plus, too. The overall facilities were good. They were not quite at the level of the other place, but it was less expensive. One of the things that stood out to me was the staff that showed me around. The occupants of the residence were very friendly and helpful. I had an opportunity to eat a meal there, and I would rate that as excellent. One of the things that kind of piqued my interest was that their serving size was quite small. They had done that because I had noticed that the residents were leaving food uneaten on their plates, so they reduced the size of the servings, and I had no problem with that. I thought that was a plus, and I thought that was smart of them. Another thing that impressed me about The Landon at Lake Highlands is that they have never had a power outage, which surprised and impressed me. They credit it to the fact perhaps that they are right across the street from a fire station, and it seems to have priority for power, so they'd never have had a power outage, and that was very reassuring to me. Another thing that I like about them is that there is an opportunity to come and stay a few days there. They have some rooms set aside where you can come and stay and experience living there for a short time, and that is something that I plan to take advantage of. They don't provide themselves with home health care, but there is a home health care provider that is housed there. It is operated as a separate operation so that if I needed additional assistance, I could stay in my room and I would not have to move out to another location if I needed additional care there. So that was a very favorable thing.
