This is the best Hanson. Is the best class we have taken in the Parkinson’s grouping. She is a great teacher
The fitness classes are fun and easy to enjoy. I love cardio Drumming. Hansi is amazing
Hansi, is awesome. Love being in her class she makes them fun, interesting, so you want to do them.
My parents joined Sumter Senior Living in October 2025. Though transitioning to an apartment setting was a challenge, they made it work. The staff are dedicated, empathetic, kind and considerate. From Melanie, the wellness director to Brittany, Nithira, Amber and Matthew to the entire care team, thank you! Your devotion to the elderly population is evident and your empathy and compassion are real. You go above and beyond what is deemed necessary. This team of professionals made the transition for my mother to memory care that much better. Finally, Mica Gilles executive leadership skills cannot be matched. She is the backbone of SSL and it shows each and every day. I would recommend SSL for all of your senior care needs, be it independent, assisted living or memory care.
There are many wonderful people who work at Sumter but my experience today with Ty Delgado was really above and beyond. The request was to detach my old TV and attach my new one. For various reasons there were all sorts of challenges, but she was patient with me and efficient in her work, all the time being positive and upbeat. Thank you Ty; you are a real jewel.
The move-in experience could have been better, and the transition into the community took some time. Additional support during the initial adjustment period would have been appreciated. There were also some early challenges related to medication management and monitoring, which led to concerns about staff training and communication. However, these issues were addressed, and care has improved since then.
I visited this facility Sumter Senior Living is a much bigger facility with many more floors and hallways. It would have been too big for my friend because he has limited walking, but it was a very impressive place. Suzanne was wonderful. She contacted me to see if I needed more information, and she followed up very nicely. The one I toured had a balcony, and it was a two-bedroom. It had a nice kitchen, dining area, and a washer and dryer, and each floor was themed. Some rooms had a big gathering area at the beginning of each floor. One place was full of tables for cards, and there were probably four tables filled with people playing cards. Another had two or three pool tables. If it were someone who was very mobile and enjoyed people, it would have been an excellent place. They also got a very nice bar where you could eat your meal. It was very impressive.
The staff at Sumter Senior Living has been beyond amazing through the entire process of starting with a general inquiry to moving in and now daily life. They are kind, always available and very qualified. The facility is extremely clean, the food is delicious with many different options to choose from and the atmosphere feels like resort living. We are very happy to have found a facility that fits all of our needs.
We have lived here almost a month!! The staff is outstanding, the happy hours are fun filled, the food is wonderful, the residents are warm and friendly!! Come see for yourself!!! We’d love to meet you!!!
NiThira Haugabrook And the Team at Sumter Senior Living Memory Care facility are awesome at all aspects of my dad’s care as he transitions. Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!
My review of Sumter Assisted Living Facility My name is Ivan Belitz. I have been living here since August of 2024. It is located at 1550 Killingsworth Way, The Villages, Florida. It is part of Grace Industries which has assisted living facilities all over the country. This facility is a wonderful place to live. They serve 3 meals a day in a lovely dining room. The food is good and the servers are very good. They also have a bistro on the main floor which has snacks 24 hours a day. They clean my room once a week cleaning, changing my bedding and doing my laundry. T They have many activities during the week including daily trivia, singers 3 days a week, a movie theater with movies 7 nights a week, games such as bingo twice a week, Derby races twice a week, corn hole once a week, hangman once a week and much more. The activity director's name is Kay and she arranges all these activities There is a gym on the first floor and a library. There are nurses and, nurse assistants on all 3 floors. There are doctors that come all week. there is a beauty parlor in the build They have a pharmacy where you can call 5 days a week and get your RX's delivered the same day. They also have a tech person named Ty who is our tech person. She services our computers, printers, i-phones, T. V's and much more. The people at the front desk are wonderful also. The director's name is Mica and she is great. She has an office on the main floor next to the gym. They have workers 7 days a week that make repairs, if necessary, all week. This place is a beautiful place to live in. It has a circular driveway with a portico and benches outside to sit on. There is a sidewalk around the building for walking with lovely shrubs, trees, and flowers. They have a large overhanging roof to park your cars and golf carts. There is a dog park also. Because it is located in the Villages you have access to all their facilities which includes over 80 rec centers with pools and all sorts of clubs and activities. There are over 700 holes of golf (there are 2 golf courses right behind our building). A ton of restaurants with every type of food along with 5 town squares that have bands every night from 5 to 9 p.m. The squares have all kinds of shops. Our bus services take us to doctor appointments. They also take us to Walmart every Monday and Publix on Fridays.
Today Ty helped me with my computer-printer connnection. Wow, what a super efficient employee she is. Thank you Ty!
Sumter Senior Living has it all! If you are looking for a top notch place to call home look no further than! They have it all, from independent, living, assisted, living, and memory care. This is a beautiful place to call home. But so many amenities and things to do throughout the day. There are always activities going on anytime you walk through the door! The staff are absolutely amazing The care compassion that is shown to the residents at Sumter Senior Living is above and beyond Such an amazing team! Love this place! Go check it out I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!!!
Very beautiful facility, excellent staff & very pleasant environment.
My mom has been there just over 1 years. She likes it there, has adjusted well. The food is very good. The facility is kept very clean. All the employees are friendly and work hard to take care of the residents. The nurse triage station has been extremely responsive to my mom's hearing problem and helping her with her hearing aids. They were quick to call me when she had 2 falls. The receptionist(s) at the front desk have been helpful with undesirable visitors seeking my out my mom. My mom participates in many of the activities there. The finance office has been very helpful with billing questions. The maintenance people have been great in helping get her TV set up. The original sales lady, [name removed] went out of her way to get paperwork done, and recommended a very helpful VA resource company that was were able to get her additional benefits. In summary, a great facility with great people who really care.
Mother is a resident that was in assisted living and transitioned to memory care. The staff and nurses have been amazing and compassionate, mom is able to age in place there and the MC nurses helped to get hospice set up for her. Emotional roller-coaster that Sumter has helped the family navigate, feel blessed that mom is getting such wonderful care.
Sumter Senior Living is an excellent facility with an absolutely AMAZING staff!! We placed our Mom, who is an Alzheimer’s patient, there almost a year ago and we are SO glad we did. The nurses are incredible, the nurse assistants and med techs are kind and caring, and the entire staff has made this difficult journey so much easier because of their compassion for the residents and their passion for the good work they do. We know Mom is well cared for, loved, and safe. Additionally, not only do these wonderful folks care for Mom, they have become like family to us. From the Executive Director Mica, to the phenomenal nursing staff led by Nurse T, including Nurses Tammy and Brittany, and all of the techs and CNA’s, you will not find a better team or better people. If you have a loved one in need of assisted living or memory care, we cannot recommend this facility highly enough.
Very very kind and compassionate. Communication is clear and frequent. High quality care for my family member.
This community is top tier. From the leadership down. The villages are beautiful and if you need senior living in the villages, this is the place to go.
If you’re looking for an Independent living, assisted, living, and memory care for your loved ones, Do not pass Sumter Senior Living. My family’s experience here was exceptional. Miss Mica Gillis, the administrator. She is so attentive and caring with each resident. My God, the nursing team what a great group of women. From Victoria, the wellness director to Brittany, Melanie, Nithira, and the rest of the staff. I think you all so much for doing your job and doing it exceptionally. I cannot express how appreciated my family is to the Sumter place team.
The facility is clean, the staff are friendly, my mother in assisted living there says "they treat you like family." She has been there for approximately 6 weeks now.
The staff here made a challenging time less stressful. Nice accommodations!
Sumter Senior Living is a great assisted living facility, maybe geared toward more independent residence in order to take advantage of all The Villages has to offer.
That was the first time I had ever visited one of those places and stayed for a little while. I enjoyed my stay and there was plenty to do. I would consider it again when I'm ready
I am so happy with the decision to place my mother at this community!
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the entire team at [Sumter Senior Living] for their dedication, kindness, and professionalism. The environment is warm, safe, and perfectly suited to the needs of the residents. The daily support is provided with great care and humanity. Thank you for creating such a caring place to live.
Sumter senior living is a wonderful community that provides excellent care and support for its residents. The staff is attentive, professional and compassionate. The environment is warm, welcoming and truly feels like home.
The dining room staff at The 19th hole , Deborah, Colleen and Stephanie provided us with exceptional service today. The hot appetizers were delicious, the fruit tray was beautiful and every beverage was served with a smile! Their willingness to help provide a memorable celebration for my parent's 65th wedding anniversary made our day extra special! Many thanks too, to the additional staff behind the scenes. I couldn't be more pleased with how the celebration unfolded.
Beautiful facility, well kept, very clean. Excellent food with a variety of menu choices. Great people, who care about the residents. I have interacted with many of them. All great. Nurses, Doctor, Director, Sales, dining staff, Move in Director, not sure of title but exercise director, receptionists, billing manager. Hope I'm not leaving anyone out as they have all been great. They have church services, a variety of daily entertainment and activities. Exercise options. Standard cable TV and help set it up. In summary, much better than I ever expected.
We moved in at the end of January 2025. The people who work and live here are very friendly. They have many activities that my husband and I enjoy. The food is good; much better than we expected. We wanted to be in a place where we were still a part of The Villages and near our friends and the places we have shopped for the past 11 years. We are very happy that we chose this Grace Management Facility.
I visited this facility I thought Sumter Senior Living was very nice. The only thing I can say is that I thought the food was not great. They kept their residents entertained, and they had a lot for them to do. The layout was good. There was not an outdoor smoking area, but they did allow pets, which was very nice. The staff was very, very nice, too. However, I felt like the dining situation was a little confusing. It was kind of disorganized.
This was our favorite place! Definitely all 5 stars. [name removed] was terrific. I loved our apartment and so did our little Pekinese-- she loved the inning around in our yard. It was worth every penny, but unfortunately we just could not afford it.
My mom was confined to her lazy boy chair all day every day at home. We tried getting her a mobile chair but she could not get used to it in her home. At the facility it is more wide open for her to get around and be able to socialize. She is very happy now. However (as I'm sure with most residents) her transition was very hard. Mom had a hard time vocalizing what she needed the care tech's to do for her. She is completely paralyzed on one side and needs total care. We pay for level 6 (highest care) 2 person transfers and they never have a second person available to help so sometimes the techs have problems handling her because she is very over weight. So even thought paying for the extra care she does not always get it. The only other issue we may have is if she needs wound care it seems like a project to have the issue looked at. It was hard at first but now mom is very happy there so overall I believe we made the best decision for her.
After 62 years of being together in marriage the idea of living by myself is difficult. My wife is being taken care of probably not as well as I would like, but she seems to have adjusted. So far so good.
I am/was a resident of this facility I am a resident of Sumter Senior Living. I like the community very much. I have a one-bedroom apartment, and I like it a lot. The dining area is very nice. The servers are top-rate. They have music at least once a week. They have exercise programs and great transportation staff. They have bingo pretty much every day. They have a lot of activities and a lot of people participate. I eat a special diet pretty much like nobody else does.
Great staff from top to bottom. Safe, clean and they care about the residents. Meals are wonderful my parent loves the cuisine. Activities are plentiful, housekeeping and laundry, maintenance is kept up.
I think they have great food and activity options and the atmosphere in the center is always cheerful and festive. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.
I visited this facility We visited Sumter Senior Living to see their memory care for my cousin's husband. The location is very good, because it is in the center of The Villages. It has a separate center just for memory care, and they do an incredible job there. It's a very nice location and a nice facility. The rooms were also wonderful. We met a lot of the staff there and they were all wonderful. They're very helpful and very responsive to how difficult this problem is for my cousin, and for anybody trying to make that final decision.
I’m a Realtor who tries to help people who are considering transitioning into Independent and Assisted living communities, and Suzanne and her staff have been incredibly supportive in letting me host informative seminars at theirs. They are the only community in the area that were interested in working with me, which indicates to me that they’re interested in helping people get informed before they walk through the door with a down payment. Plus, it’s a great community-lots if happy residents. I can highly recommend Sumter Grand if you’re considering making a move. Jeff Inglehart NextHome Sally Love Real Estate
We visited a number of different assisted living communities in The Villages and chose Sumter Senior Living. Its been a year and a half since my brother moved in, and we are so pleased! We had a meeting the day he moved in, and formally met all of the different department leaders. This was so helpful, because we personally met everyone in case we needed to communicate with them in the future. The nursing department is amazing! Victoria and her staff have been extremely attentive and helpful with my brothers health and medications. Director, Mica is very professional and involved in the community. My brother loves the food, especially the breakfast blueberry pancakes! The transportation bus is very reliable, and easy to arrange. Housekeeping does a great job and the facilities are always clean. I'm so proud to see a picture of my brother on the "wall of veterans" by the elevator. Can't say enough about Sumter Senior Living! Highly recommend!
This community is stellar! The Executive Director Mica Gilles is extremely knowledgeable, and resident focused. Grandma Betty is treated by all the staff as if she is their grandmother. It warms my heart ❤️! I had lunch recently and the fare was delectable. From the place settings to the quality of food it was fresh and beautifully plated. They even catered to my keto needs. 10 stars 🌟
Mom is in Memory Care. This place has greatly improved from 2 years ago. Caring staff who listen to my concerns and work with mom, who can be difficult at times.
Picked up a client and took her to Orlando International. No problem
Satisfied and would recommend.
I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident My uncle moved into Sumter Senior Living a couple of weeks ago. Their staff is very responsive to my questions and very proactive on my requests. The location is beautiful. And, there are a lot of activities for him. His care seems to be as I expected it to be. And I love the fact that they have therapy there on site, so that he can go for his therapies and has his own space. I'm not there, so I don't know for certain, but I do wish that they would check on him a little more often because he's not ambulatory, but they are responsive to the bell when he calls. My uncle is on a puree diet, and they have been accommodating to that. They have snacks and coffee, so it is available to the residents whenever they want them. And so he can get that should he choose to. The facility is absolutely clean. The location itself is gorgeous. It's right across the street from a golf course, and there are lakes all around. It's beautiful. It looks like a resort. There are a lot of activities for the residents. They have live music, trivia days, casino nights, and bingo. They have exercise classes in the entryway for those who are also wheelchair-bound. So there's a lot for him to do there.
Sumpter Senior Living is an active, friendly community, my dad began making friends immediately. He enjoys the chef prepared meals and his favorite activity is going to the movie theater area each evening after dinner. They have a physical therapist on site and he has daily PT, which has been greatly beneficial for him. The Nursing staff helps my dad manage his meds and the staff is there to assist with anything he needs. There are a lot of wonderful assisted-living facilities in the area, it was a tough choice, but we made the right one.
I would recommend to others. If a friend asked about Sumter Senior Living I would say that they were very responsive and organized when we were touring memory care places. My family liked the way the memory care unit was setup especially how the kitchen/dining/entertainment area was surrounded by the residents' rooms. The move-in was easy. Every time I visited the majority of residents were in the central area and not in their rooms. Staff was always wiling to help if we had a specific request. My father's room was always clean as was he and his clothes. He did pass in March.
I visited this facility Sumter Senior Living was very good. They provided transportation. They had a dog park for your dogs. It seemed like a good place, but with my mom having dementia, I wasn't sure about the elevator. I thought that would be hard for her. The staff was very friendly and very nice.
I visited this facility I liked everything about Sumter Senior Living except for the price. It was run very well. We liked it very much. They had a couple of apartments. They're not that good about following up, though. They call and then I don't hear from them again, but Heather, the one I met there, was very attentive and very knowledgeable. The rooms were very nice. They showed us one that was being worked on, and repainted, and the carpet was being pulled up, and it's very clean. The atmosphere was friendly and attentive. They have lots of things for the seniors to do, which was a big prerequisite with us because we're still active, I run a bridge club here in my place and they thought I could open up a bridge club there, too. We had lunch there and the food was excellent. They had a lovely big dining room and served like a restaurant with tablecloths. It was very, very beautiful. They have a beauty salon, a gym where you can work out, water aerobics, and all the things I was looking for.
I visited this facility Sumter Senior Living was very good. It was an excellent experience. It was my second on the list. It was nice. It wasn't as nice as the other place, but it rates right up there to it. The staff was very nice and very professional, and they acknowledged the people who were living there, too. The facility was very clean. The rooms were very nice. The layout was nice. The rooms were very nice. The hallways were very wide. They had a very good pool. The amenities were nice. They're affiliated with The Villages. You can use your village card and do the amenities in The Villages.
Kudos to everyone who orchestrated the New Year's Eve party. It was an elegant and fun set up, good food, superb service by the wait-staff and, of course, lovely people to sit with. Thank you.
The Sumter Senior Living community is very nice, very clean, quiet and spacious. Our loved ones room is very large for the money - also vs the other places we priced. We would recommend this community to other families.
They hosted our tri county women's veterans Christmas party. The food was delicious, staff was friendly and, seating/accommodations were wonderful. Thank you for honoring our veterans.
I visited this facility My brother will be moving into Sumter Senior Living. When we toured, the staff was knowledgeable, courteous, and patient. The building itself is in very good shape and maintained. It's a more open feeling than some of the other ones we toured because it's a little bit larger. The independent living facility is next door, which is one of the main reasons for moving in. He will be moving into the assisted living facility, but he does have access to the next door if he wants to go over there for a different dinner or whatever. His room is a studio. It's nice, clean, and it's small, but they all are. The staff is fine. They have multiple areas, a library, and common spaces outside. They have a movie room, bingo room, and multipurpose rooms.
I visited this facility We got contacted by a woman at Sumter Senior Living, and we ended up heading over there because of my father-in-law's request, he is now working with them to possibly move in as early as next week. We toured both independent living and the memory care unit. The experience was very positive. The people were friendly. They gave us the information that we needed, gave us the tour, and answered all the questions we had on the tour. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. The facility was very easy to navigate and had a lot of resources for both my in-laws, so that made it easy as well. The staff on the tour was extremely friendly and welcoming to my in-laws for the care that they need as well as the nurse. We talked to the nurse in the memory care facility for a little while and she was very helpful.
